Fanheart3 is an association dedicated to one of the things we founding members love most: fandom.
We’ve been part of fan communities since we were in diapers (well… almost), and being sooo old has given us the opportunity to go through some of the fundamental transitions that have touched fan culture over the years:
…we were there when zines were still printed…
…when you couldn’t download pictures of your favourite actor online but had to have them sent to you by a complete stranger contacted in a magazine who either collected pictures themselves or had better internet access than you…
…when for the first time it became easy to get in touch with fans on the other side of the world through blogs like livejournal (rest in peace)…
…when tumblr still lived almost solely on posts about Supernatural (this one, actually, hasn’t changed that much).
The love for fandom and fan creativity has been with us all our lives and that’s why we created this association.
Every article we write, event we organise or activity we carry out is the result of our passion for each small community we are a part of and for the productions that have made us dream, ship, cry, get angry and maybe even participate in absurd petitions in their support.
With fanheart3 we want to tell the world that fandom is a serious thing.
That sometimes fangirling can make not only your own day more beautiful, but also the day of many other people who share that enthusiasm with you, even from a distance, and whom you can enrich with a fanfiction, a fanart or even make smile with a comment and a kudos to thank them for what they create.
That being ‘childish’, as some call us fans, is not so bad if it is what drives us to take action for social causes, to welcome those who are original or need a friend, to be ourselves without fear of being judged.
So let’s create a place for fandom, for fantasy, for participation, together.
